Managed by a team of highly qualified and competent engineers with vast experience in their respective disciplines, DANWAY maintains high standards of quality, Employees Engineers & Executives Administrative Staff Site Workforce This 380/132/33/13.8KV BSP at AL- WAJH , Saudi Arabia was constructed by Danway EME on Turnkey basis. Scope of works includes Engineering, procurement, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of complete Substation which includes , 15 bays of 380kV GIS, 2 bays of 380 kV HGIS ,21 bays of 132kV GIS, 23 bays of 33kV SWGR, 44 bays of 13.8 kV SWGR, 2 Nos. of 380/132/13.8 kV 300/400/500 MVA Power Transformers., 2 Nos. of 132/33 kV, 80/100 MVA transformers, 3 Nos. of 132/13.8 kV, 50/67 MVA transformers, 1 no. of 380 kV, 120 MVAR bus connected reactor, 2 Nos. of 380 kV, 40 MVAR line connected reactors, 4 nos. 33 kV, 7.5 MVAR shunt capacitor banks, 3 Nos. 13.8 kV, 7 MVAR shunt capacitor banks, Auxiliary / Earthing Transformers, 380 kV & 132 kV OHTL Gantries, Control, Protection, SAS & Telecom ,Civil and MEP works. This is the First Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant to be constructed in UAE and the scope comprised of MEP works (Lighting, Small Power, HVAC, Fire Protection, etc.) for the Electrical / Control Building (1 No.), Inverter Building (13 Nos.), Security Building (1no.) and Gate House (1no.). The scope also included Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Equipment such as 1.2MVA Transformers, 500kVA Inverter units, 25kVA UPS Units, 33kV RMU and 33kV Switchgear within the various buildings. External works being carried out by us were 6m High Base Hinged Poles with Flood Lights for Fence Lighting, External Earthing Grid, CCTV System, SCADA System, DC Cable Installation, 33kV Cable Installation, LV Cable Installation, FO Cable Installation, Instrument Cable Installation along with connections to the DC Junction Box and Solar Panels. 13 nos. 132/11kV Substations Commissioned & in-service in DEWA Network and 4 nos. 132/11 kV Substations Under various stages of execution. Turnkey contracts to Design, Engineering, Supply, Installation & Commissioning of complete Substation which included 132kV GIS, Power Transformers, Reactors, LVAC Panels, 11kV Switchgear, Capacitor Banks, UPS / DC System, Lighting, Small Power, Fire Fighting, HVAC, 132kV Cables, LV Cables, 11kV Cables, Control and Protection System etc. and Associated Civil Works The smelter complex covers a site of 6 sqkm and is being built in two phases. Phase I was completed in early 2011, ahead of schedule. In 2011, EMAL commenced the Phase II expansion which is due to be completed by the end of 2014. At the end of Phase II, EMAL will have the longest single potline in the world at 1.7 km and annual production capacity will almost double to 1.3 million metric tonnes. Danway EME has played a major role in the execution of Electrical works associated with the Potlines, Carbon Plant, Casthouse, Material Handling and Power Distribution system in both the phases. During Phase 1 construction, Danway EME had a peak workforce strength of 1600 and achieved more than 4 Million manhours without LTI, validating its commitment to Health and Safety at work site. The “Fujairah F2” Power and Desalination Plant is the largest newly constructed IWPP in the U.A.E. with 2000MW of net pwer capacity and 130 MIGD of net water capacity – the plant commenced commercial operation in January 2011. Danway EME was the leading Electrical & Instrumentation Contractor for Alstom in performing the complete E&I works associated with 6 nos. GT26B gas turbines with supplementary fired HRSGs. This 1.2 km tunnel passes through the mountains between the Al Madeeq and Al Qula’ei valleys. The highway provides an important link through the Hajar Mountain range between the west and east coasts of the U.A.E. The tunnel has an overall width of 13.5m and height of 9.7 m with bi-directional roads. Danway EME succesfully implemented the provision of tunnel services, including permanent ventilation, fire safety, security system and specialized Tunnel lighting system. The 842 meter long bridge is said to be the most intricate bridge ever constructed. Its curved design arches evoke undulating sand dunes of the desert.The bridge features – besides its striking architecture – a dynamic lighting design that is based on subtle colours that flow across the bridge’s spine, symbolising the connecting nature of the bridge and the energy that the capital city Abu Dhabi radiates. Danway EME is proud to have executed the complete electrical works and lighting system associated with this iconic bridge which opened in November 2010. Vopak Horizon Fujairah Limited, established in 1998 serves the second largest fuel oil bunker market in the world. The storage capacity of the terminal is about 2.1 million cubic meters with 68 Tanks, 6 Jetties and 1 Single Point Mooring buoy. The terminal is equipped with facilities related to Nitrogen Generator for blanketting and pigging, Heating Facility and Blending & Additive Injection. Danway EME was involved in the complete Electrical and Instrumentation works associated with this facility during the Phase 1 of the project and subsequent expansion projects. This water transmission project involved construction of a new Unit III Pumping Station at Taweelah for which Danway EME performed the complete Design , Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of 7nos. Variable Speed Pump & Motor sets, each with a capacity of 15.2 MIGD, Hypochlorination system, Hydraulic analysis, Surge protection, dedicated 33/11kV Substation, MEP and I&C works. As a Country Manager – Bahrain, he is responsible for the company’s growth in Bahrain with business development and execution of the projects with customer delight.
Rakesh Gaekwad
Chief Executive Officer
Rakesh Gaekwad has over 28 years of Experience in the Construction Industry. He was appointed Chief Operating Officer with effect from April 2021 and is responsible for the overall operations of Projects undertaken by Danway EME, including Engineering, Contracts, Procurement as well a Tendering Departments. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, India.
Rakesh started his professional career with Danway as a Trainee Engineer in 1993 and rose within the ranks to hold various managerial positions in Tendering, Project Management and General Manager – Commercial.

Adel Al Nowais graduated in 1990 with a BS in Business Administration from Lewis and Clark College, USA. Has attended several courses and seminars at INSEAD, Paris and other prominent overseas educational institutions. After graduating in 1990, he joined Federal Foods LLC (a subsidiary Al Nowais Investments) as the Business Development Manager. In 1999 he was appointed as the Group’s Director – Commercial & Projects.In 2008, he became the Managing Director of Al Nowais Investments. In addition to his various corporate roles and responsibilities within the group, Mr. Al Nowais has been invited to join the boards as director of several publicly-held prestigious institutions including Arabtech and Asmak. |

Ashraf has a 32 years’ experience in Electrical power system, distribution & automation. He has held various roles in his carrier in the field of Business Development, Sales, Marketing and general management in Middle East & Africa with proven record to develop and start business from scratch. He holds bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. As a general manager he is managing a complete value chain of Sales, Tendering, Project Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Production, Q.C and Service. Has direct responsibility of Profit & Loss and business growth.

Asif has over 36 years’ experience in the electrical field of Power Transmission and Distribution related equipment and systems. He has held various roles in his carrier in the field of Sales, Manufacturing, Turnkey Contracts and business development. As a Business Unit head of EPDC Division, he is responsible for the Commercial Action Plan and Production facility. He holds bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

He has held various roles in his carrier in the field of Construction & Projects Management for mega projects in various countries.
As a Manager for Abu Dhabi area, he is responsible for the business development, execution & completion of projects. He holds bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

Nagaraj Harpanahalli has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Mysore University India and has over 26 years of experience in Engineering, Project Management & Execution of Power Plants, High Voltage Substations, HV / MV Cabling, Oil Refineries / Terminals, Airports, Industrial & other Infrastructure Projects. Nagaraj joined Danway as a Sr. Design Engineer in the year 2002 and contributed towards Danway’s inorganic growth assuming various responsibilities over the years. He has served the organization as Head of Engineering / Testing & Commissioning and Mechanical Departments.
He has led some of Danway’s challenging projects as a Project Manager & also served as Divisional Manager for Power & Utilities vertical. He was appointed as General Manager – Projects (Dubai & Northern Emirates) in Jan – 2020. Prior to joining Danway, Nagaraj has worked in India with one of the leading Engineering companies as a Design Engineer.
Kathirvel M.

Kathirvel carries 27 years’ experience in Project Management, Engineering management, Site & Construction Management related to Power Generation & Distribution, Heavy industrial, Oil & Gas & Infrastructure projects. Having extensive work, communication and leadership experience in study, Detailed Design & construction phases of the project in the complex multi-disciplinary projects. Holds Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Master’s degree in Construction Project Management & PMI certified Project Management professional (PMP). More than 20 years’ work experience in the construction projects in UAE, Saudi Arabia & Oman.
As Business Unit Head of Danway Saudi Arabia, responsible for the Business development and Project management and deliver the company’s business plan.

Ashraf Aldorr

Aboobaker Mohammed has Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with over 35 years of experience in the field of sales, service, Contracting, Procurement, Business development, Commercial and Quality Assurance. Aboobaker has joined Danway in 1990 as Sales and Service Engineer of Pumps Division and contributed towards Danway’s growth assuming various responsibilities over the years. He was serving as Divisional Manager of Pumps Division when he had left Danway in 2007 to take assignment in ADNOC Subsidiary and re-joined Danway in 2017 as Commercial Manager.
He has been assigned additional responsibility of head of Mechanical Division (Power & Water, and Access) and is responsible for the Techno Commercial activities and P&L of the Division.

Vijay Kadam

Vijay Kadam has over 25 years of Experience in Industrial and Retail, Weighing, Packaging, Automation, PPE Industry. He is responsible for overall business activities of Danway Emirates LLC. He holds Executive M.B.A. Degree from S.P. Jain School of Global Management.
Vijay was appointed General Manager – IRS with effect from January 2012 and has been employed in various Technical and Commercial, Management role since joining as Division Manager in 2003.

Amit Bansal
CFO
Amit Bansal has over 21 years of experience in Finance, Accounts, IT and Administration functions of various manufacturing and contracting companies. He is MBA Finance, Certified Public Accountant (U.S.) and associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountant of India.
Amit has joined the company in 2007 as Finance controller and promoted as CFO in year 2012. He is responsible for the Financial and Administration functions including development and delivery of the company’s strategy, budget, business plan and corporate policies.
S. G. Nair
Group Managing Director & CEO
S.G. Nair brings more than 45 years of professional experience gained in a number of senior leadership roles in the Middle East, Europe, Africa and India. S.G. Nair has played a key role in the establishment of Danway EME and is responsible for leading the strategic direction and operational management of Danway EME business activities in the Middle East. He has been the General Manager of Danway EME since its inception in 1990 and was appointed Managing Director in 2007
S.G. Nair is a chartered Electrical Engineer graduated from the College of Engineering – Trivandrum, India. He is also a member of the Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India) and Institution of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (USA) and has undergone management training in Holland and Belgium.
